At a time when India’s AI ambitions are accelerating, the collaboration seeks to create homegrown, production-grade AI systems that are not only globally competitive but deeply rooted in Indian contexts, languages and infrastructure.

The alliance brings together Sarvam AI’s expertise in developing multilingual foundational models, conversational AI and speech technologies, with IITM Pravartak’s strengths in AI engineering, systems integration and large-scale deployment.
Together, they aim to co-develop cutting-edge solutions across sectors including public administration, defence, financial services and healthcare—unlocking the potential of AI powered by Indian data and designed for Indian realities.
Elaborating on the vision, Dr. M. J.
