- Integrated Ops Centre & Maritime Rescue Sub Centre to sharpen real-time response and coordination

The new facility marks a significant milestone in reinforcing maritime security along the eastern seaboard. Built in line with the vision of a “Modern Force, Modern Infrastructure,” the complex is designed to elevate both operational readiness and administrative efficiency.
At its core, the complex houses an advanced Operations Centre alongside the Maritime Rescue Sub Centre, Puducherry—creating a unified hub for command, control and coordination. This integrated setup is expected to enable faster, more precise responses to maritime contingencies, including search-and-rescue missions and emerging security challenges.
District Headquarters No. 13, which oversees Puducherry and central Tamil Nadu waters, monitors a maritime expanse of over 140 nautical miles. The unit plays a crucial role in safeguarding lives and property at sea, protecting marine ecosystems, and securing India’s strategic maritime interests.
With this inauguration, the Coast Guard reinforces its role as a vigilant sentinel of India’s coastline—combining advanced infrastructure with mission-critical preparedness.
