Responding to a query, CA Rinkesh Shah clarified: “We do not have genderwise toppers’ list.”
Ahmedabad scripts an impressive comeback

The standout achievement came from Group II, where 96 out of 472 candidates cleared the examination, translating into a 20.34 per cent success rate—a dramatic improvement over the 4.43 per cent pass percentage recorded in the January 2026 examination, reflecting the determination and renewed preparation of aspirants.
For Group I, 51 candidates cleared the examination out of 851, resulting in a 5.99 per cent pass percentage.
The performance reinforces Ahmedabad’s position as one of western India’s prominent centres for Chartered Accountancy education and professional excellence.

The figures indicate an improvement over the January 2026 combined pass percentage of 10.97 per cent, although remaining below the 16.23 per cent recorded in September 2025.
ICAI dismisses portal breach rumours
Amid speculation on social media regarding an alleged security breach, the ICAI categorically denied any compromise of examination-related data and urged stakeholders not to be misled by misinformation.
In an official statement, the Institute said: “The ICAI has come across certain posts and reports circulating in social media alleging a security breach in an ICAI examination-related portal and claimed unauthorised access to ICAI examination records. These unverified claims have caused concern and confusion among students, members and other stakeholders.”
Clarifying the issue, ICAI explained: “The portal being referred to, namely examiners.icaiexam.icai.org, is a training portal used exclusively for examiner orientation and has nothing to do with exam-related records as claimed in these social media posts.”
Reassuring students and members, the Institute asserted: “The ICAI assure all stakeholders that there has been no compromise of candidates’ examination records, answer books, marks data, or any sensitive information related to the examination process.”
It further appealed: “The ICAI urges the stakeholders not to give any credence to such a false, baseless and mischievous campaign.”
Warning of legal consequences, the Institute added: “The ICAI has viewed the matter seriously and assures that stringent action in accordance with law will be taken against persons spreading such rumours and false claims.”
Reiterating confidence in its systems, ICAI stated: “The ICAI further reiterates that its examination processes are robust, totally secure and supported by a strong information technology infrastructure with multiple layers of safeguards to protect the integrity and confidentiality of examination-related data.”
The Institute concluded by advising: “Students, members and all stakeholders are, therefore, advised not to believe such rumours and false campaigns in social media and requested to refer only to official communications issued by ICAI for authentic updates.”
With Ahmedabad registering a notable academic resurgence and the national examination producing nearly eight thousand new professionals, the CA Final May 2026 results underscore both the rigour of the profession and the perseverance of aspirants pursuing one of India’s most demanding qualifications.
