The first day at a university often shapes a student’s aspirations for years to come. Recognising this, GSFC University rolled out the red carpet for its newest batch of undergraduate and postgraduate students by hosting an engaging Orientation Programme that blended inspiration, academic guidance and a glimpse into a future built on innovation and industry readiness.
The event, attended by students and their parents, marked the formal commencement of the 2026-27 academic session, introducing freshers to the University’s academic philosophy, multidisciplinary learning environment, research ecosystem and vibrant campus culture.
Welcoming the students, P. K. Taneja, IAS (Retd.), President of GSFC University, urged them to transform their years on campus into a journey of intellectual growth and personal excellence.
“Success is built on discipline, integrity, innovation, critical thinking, practical skills and lifelong learning. Understand the University’s vision, remain disciplined and actively participate in research, internships, industry engagement and extracurricular activities to unlock your true potential,” he said.
Highlighting the University’s commitment to creating globally competent professionals, Dr. G. R. Singha, Provost, emphasised the importance of curiosity, adaptability and experiential learning.
“Our focus is on outcome-based education, multidisciplinary learning and strong industry-academia collaboration. Stay curious, embrace challenges and make full use of the University’s laboratories, innovation ecosystem and experiential learning opportunities to prepare yourself for the future,” he advised.
The orientation programme familiarised students with the University’s academic offerings, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 framework, research and innovation initiatives, entrepreneurship opportunities, library and digital learning resources, student clubs, sports, cultural activities and comprehensive career development services.
Interactive engagements with faculty members, student mentors and alumni provided the newcomers valuable insights into campus life, academic expectations and professional opportunities, enabling them to begin their higher education journey with confidence and enthusiasm.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming GSFC University’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible, industry-ready and future-focused graduates equipped to excel in an increasingly technology-driven global economy.
