FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) Ahmedabad Chapter in association with Garvi, Gujarat Government’s handloom and handcrafts promotion body, five fashion design institutes and NGOs like SEWA and artisans bodies organized a spectacular “Fashion Show – The Weaves Of Gujarat” in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
The main objective of this fashion show was creation of new innovative products and designs by artisans, fashion designers and textile experts who have been working together to create uniquely fresh product ideas for both Indian and global consumers.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, FLO Ahmedabad chapter chairperson Nandita Munshaw, Textile Initiative head Shilpa Patel, said, “To rediscover the glory of our textiles and present it on a platform incorporating global designs, FICCI FLO and FLO Ahmedabad chapter had organized a Fashion Show – The Weaves of Gujarat. To execute the design ideas, fashion students from five prominent fashion design institutes across Surat, Baroda, and Ahmedabad have been invited.”
Umang Hutheesing, a designer and royal cultural revivalist, was the chief guest at this fashion show.
FICCI members raced the fashion event by walking the ramp in Indo-Western dresses with Gujarati tradition that wowed the audience.
Ujjawala Singhania, the National President, was virtually present at the Fashion Show.
