CHENNAI, JAN 29
There is an anti-cyclone over the Bay of Bengal because of which, the Tamil Nadu is getting southerly and southeasterly winds. The southerly winds reach about 30 km into the land while the winds are calm in the interior regions of the state. So, temperatures are higher there, said N Puviarasan, Area Cyclone Warning Centre, Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai.
