The rumour took off—but Adani Enterprises has firmly kept it on the ground.
Putting an end to recent media reports and market speculation about a possible entry into the aviation sector, Adani Enterprises Limited on Friday categorically denied any plans to launch an airline.
The company said it was “entirely baseless and factually incorrect” to suggest that Adani Enterprises was planning to enter the airline business.
“We would like to categorically deny the recent media reports and market speculation suggesting that Adani Enterprises is planning to launch an airline. These reports are entirely baseless and factually incorrect,” a spokesperson for Adani Enterprises Limited said.
The spokesperson added: “Adani Enterprises is not evaluating any proposal to enter the airline business.”
The clarification comes amid renewed market speculation surrounding the Adani Group’s potential expansion into new sectors. The company’s categorical denial, however, makes it clear that there is currently no proposal under consideration by Adani Enterprises to launch or enter an airline business.
