Aiming to reduce the spread of coronavirus in the city, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has increased the fine for not wearing masks and spitting in public places from the present Rs 200 to Rs 500. Further, a hefty fine of Rs 10,000 will be levied on paan shop owners if any spitting was found in and around the shop, says an AMC circular.
