GOWRI MANICKAVASAGAM
Like all other sectors, the entertainment industry is also trying to grapple with the current situation and is gearing up to entertain the audience once again. The actors are back on the set and are strictly following all the rules laid down by the government about health and safety on sets. Under these rules, only a limited crew is allowed on the set, and only required cast and crew can shoot at a time. With this in mind, the actors on COLORS’ hit show Shakti- Astitva KeEhsaasKii are getting atmanirbhar and using all their talents to come up with creative solutions to make sure they follow the guidelines.
In the current track of the show, Heer (Jigyasa Singh) and Virat (Simba Nagpal) will be getting married in presence of their family members, and the wedding rituals needed to be shot. For a particular sequence during the Haldi ceremony, the team needed to execute a dance sequence. However, given the limited crew, there was no choreographer present. Coming to the rescue was Jigyasa Singh and her co-star Avinash Mukherjee, who decided to choreograph the entire sequence themselves.
Talking about the experience, Jigyasa said, “I am very happy that the shoots have started, and we are working very hard to entertain the audience and make sure that we meet them on-screen very soon. We are following all the safety guidelines, and, in the process, we are becoming self-reliant while shooting. When we got to know that we can’t have a choreographer on the set, Avinash and I decided to choreograph a dance sequence ourselves. It was a very fulfilling experience and we enjoyed executing the dance sequence. During the lockdown, the one hobby that I developed was dancing and I am glad that I got an opportunity to use this learning immediately. We are adjusting to the new normal and giving our best to entertain our audience and I hope they continue to shower their love on us!”
