The income-tax department has warned job-seekers not to fall prey to the fake recruitment advertisements on social media.
According to an IT department circular, not only the advertisement is fake but also the job profiles.
“It is noticed that certain messages are being circulated in WhatsApp Media, regarding recruitment to the post of Superintendent – 01, Private Secretary – 01, Inspector – 02, Assistant – 03 in Income Tax Department, Tamil Nadu. Further, it was mentioned that the date of notification is 12.10.2020 and the last date for applying to these posts is 60 days from the date of the said notification.
“In this regard, it is hereby clarified that the post of ‘Private Secretary’ is filled purely on promotion and there is no direct recruitment for the said post. In respect of recruitment to the posts of ‘Inspector and Tax Assistant’ are concerned, the same is carried out through the recruitment process of Staff Selection Commission (SSC) only.
“Further, it is also clarified that there are no such posts such as ‘Superintendent and Assistant’ in the Income Tax Department. Hence, it is clarified that the recruitment notification purported to have been issued by the Income Tax Department is fake and has not been issued by the Income Tax Department,” the release clarified.
Generally, the recruitment to the various non-gazetted posts in Income Tax Department is carried out by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) only.
The members of the public are requested to check the official website of SSC or contact their office, in case of any doubt about the recruitment process.
The public is requested not to fall prey to such spurious messages spread in WhatsApp, added the clarification.
