Expressing goodwill and creating an atmosphere of camaraderie, the personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) stationed at the International Border (IB) in Gujarat and Barmer in Rajasthan celebrated Diwali, says a BSF release.

“On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, BSF exchanged sweets and greetings with Pakistan Marines and Pakistan Rangers on the India-Pakistan International border in Gujarat and Barmer in Rajasthan. The exchange of sweets with Pakistan Rangers took place at Munabao, Gadra, Kelnor, Somrar in Barmer District in Rajasthan and at international borders of Banaskantha and Kutch Districts of Gujarat. Pakistan Marines were offered sweets at G pillar line and mid channel of Sir Creek in Kutch district,” the statement added.
Exchange of sweets and greetings on festivals of national importance enhance mutual harmony, brotherhood and also plays an important role in maintaining friendly and peaceful atmosphere along the borders, between two border guarding Forces, a BSF officer said.
