AHMEDABAD, JULY 7
Instead of beginning college with routine orientation speeches, GLS University chose to ignite young minds with a conversation that challenged students to think bigger, dream smarter and prepare for a world where knowledge, ethics and adaptability will matter more than ever before.
In a compelling inaugural edition of “Decoded with Chandni Kapadia”, CA Aniket Sunil Talati, Former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Partner at Talati & Talati LLP, transformed his remarkable professional journey into an inspiring roadmap for hundreds of first-year commerce students eager to understand what it truly takes to succeed in an era being reshaped by Artificial Intelligence, digital disruption and global opportunities.
Rather than celebrating achievements, the session focused on the lessons behind the milestones. Through an engaging fireside-style conversation, Dr. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director, GLS University, unravelled the many facets of CA Talati’s journey—from his formative years as a commerce student to becoming one of India’s most respected accounting professionals with leadership roles in technology, insolvency law, government initiatives, international professional forums and digital transformation of the accounting profession.
The dialogue demonstrated that professional excellence is not built overnight but is shaped through curiosity, resilience, lifelong learning and the courage to embrace change.
One of the session’s defining moments came when students themselves steered the conversation, posing insightful questions on careers, entrepreneurship, finance, emerging technologies and the future of commerce. Their interaction transformed the event into a genuine exchange of ideas, where practical wisdom met youthful ambition.
Responding to the aspiring professionals, CA Talati urged them to build competencies that extend beyond academic excellence.
“Success is not just about reaching a position; it is about creating an impact along the way. The world of commerce is evolving, and the future belongs to those who combine knowledge with adaptability.”
Addressing growing concerns over Artificial Intelligence replacing traditional professions, he reassured students that technology would redefine work but not human values.
“Technology may transform the way we work, but integrity, curiosity and human values will always define excellence. Keep learning, keep evolving and never lose your connection with your roots. True growth is measured not only by how far you go, but by how many lives you inspire.”
His message encouraged students to view commerce as far more than an academic discipline.
Instead, he described it as a gateway to finance, innovation, entrepreneurship, governance and global business opportunities, where professionals capable of blending technological competence with ethical leadership will remain indispensable.
Adding vibrancy to the programme were interactive segments such as Rapid Fire, Myth or Fact, Sip or Skip, and the signature “Decoded” segment, where CA Talati distilled complex concepts of success, commerce and finance into practical life lessons rooted in decades of professional experience.

Throughout the session, Dr. Chandni Kapadia ensured that every discussion remained relatable to students beginning their academic journey, successfully bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world leadership.
As the curtains came down, the audience walked away with far more than career advice. They left with a renewed understanding that success is not defined merely by qualifications or titles but by the willingness to learn continuously, adapt fearlessly and create meaningful impact.
With initiatives such as “Decoded with Chandni Kapadia,” GLS University is redefining higher education by transforming distinguished industry leaders into mentors, conversations into learning experiences and freshers into future-ready professionals poised to lead the next era of commerce and business.
