CHENNAI, JULY 27

Before the roar of a racing engine comes the dream. Before the chequered flag comes the discipline. And before a youngster can become a champion, there must be a first track, a first coach and a first opportunity. TVS Racing is now taking that first opportunity to India’s youngest aspiring racers.

  • TVS Motor hands over 10 Apache RR 200 Mini motorcycles to Madras Motor Sports Club to ignite India’s grassroots racing revolution
  • New TVS Apache Junior Programme puts children aged 10–14 on a structured pathway from first ride to competitive circuit racing
  • Young riders to receive professional coaching, safety training and mentorship from experienced instructors and TVS Racing champions
  • Madras International Karting Arena becomes launchpad for aspiring racers seeking to transform speed, skill and discipline into a racing career
  • Junior riders can progress from Apache Junior Programme to OMC Rookie, RR 310 Expert and TVS Racing International Championship categories

TVS Motor Company, part of TVS VENU and a global leader in the two- and three-wheeler segments, has handed over 10 TVS Apache RR 200 Mini motorcycles to the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC) to launch a structured rider-development programme for children aged 10 to 14 years.

The initiative is designed to catch young talent early and provide aspiring racers with professional training, expert mentorship and a safe, structured route into competitive motorsport.

The first lap towards a racing dream

The purpose-built TVS Apache RR 200 Mini motorcycles will form the backbone of the new TVS Apache Junior Programme, under which young riders will learn the fundamentals of racing at the Madras International Karting Arena (MIKA).

The programme will introduce children to:

  • Racing discipline
  • Precision and control
  • Track awareness
  • Riding technique
  • Safety
  • Professional race preparation

The motorcycles will be available on rent as part of the programme, helping make structured motorsport more accessible to aspiring young riders.

The objective is clear: discover talent early, train it professionally and create a pathway from grassroots participation to competitive racing.

From the playground to the racetrack

For today’s children, adventure sports can offer lessons that go far beyond competition.

The track can teach patience.

A corner can teach control.

A mistake can teach resilience.

A race can teach discipline.

And a difficult lap can teach a young rider the value of persistence.

TVS Motor Company said its wider motorsport ecosystem combines immersive gaming through Asphalt, experiential racing at KidZania and now the TVS Apache Junior Programme to inspire young riders and create a structured route towards competitive motorsport.

Safety remains central to the initiative.

Young riders will train under experienced instructors in a controlled environment, using purpose-built motorcycles and world-class protective gear.

The objective is not simply to make children faster.

It is to make them skilled, disciplined, confident and responsible riders.

A four-step road to the racing grid

The programme creates a structured progression for young riders:

TVS Apache Junior Programme — 10–14 years
Training and practice on the Apache RR 200 Mini motorcycle.

TVS OMC Rookie Category — 15+ years
Entry into competitive circuit racing.

TVS OMC RR 310 Expert Category
Advanced racing development.

TVS Racing International Championship
The ultimate pathway to global racing opportunities.

For a young rider with talent and determination, the journey can therefore begin at the age of 10 and potentially lead to international competition.

Four decades of ‘track to road’ experience

For more than four decades, TVS Motor Company has worked to make motorsport more accessible while building India’s racing ecosystem.

With competitive racing under FMSCI regulations beginning at the age of 15, the TVS Apache Junior Programme seeks to address the crucial developmental years before formal competitive circuit racing.

Commenting on the introduction of the TVS Apache Mini Motorcycle, Vimal Sumbly, Head – Premium Business, TVS Motor Company, said: “At TVS Motor Company, racing is more than a sport—it is part of our DNA. For over four decades, we have championed performance, precision and safety while building India’s motorsport ecosystem. With competitive racing under FMSCI regulations beginning at the age of 15, the TVS Apache Junior Programme addresses the need for structured early training by providing aspiring riders aged 10–14 years with world-class coaching in a safe, controlled environment. Powered by the TVS Apache RR 200 Mini Motorcycle at the Madras International Karting Arena and guided by TVS Racing experts, the programme creates a clear pathway for India’s future racing champions while strengthening the grassroots of Indian motorsport.”

Where champions learn to begin

As TVS Apache celebrates 20 years of racing-derived performance, engineering and a global community of more than 7 million riders across 90 countries, the brand continues to advance its “Track to Road” philosophy.

The new programme extends that philosophy beyond motorcycles and technology to the development of human talent.

The lessons learned on the racetrack can shape the next generation of riders.

And the next generation of riders can, in turn, influence the future of racing technology.

For India’s young adventure-sports enthusiasts, the message is electrifying:

You do not have to wait to become a racer. The journey can begin now—with the right training, the right discipline and the courage to take the first lap.
