NE BUSINESS BUREAU
GANDHINAGAR, JULY 27

Gujarat’s industrial engine received another powerful boost on Monday as the State Government approved industrial investment proposals worth more than ₹2,999 crore, paving the way for over 6,000 direct employment opportunities and reaffirming the State’s position as one of India’s most attractive manufacturing and investment destinations under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s industrial growth agenda.

The approvals were accorded during a series of high-level committee meetings chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and Industries Minister Harsh Sanghavi, covering large industries, textile units and industrial infrastructure projects under various State incentive schemes. The move is expected to further strengthen Gujarat’s manufacturing ecosystem, accelerate regional development and create thousands of quality employment opportunities.

Deputy Chief Minister and Industries Minister Harsh Sanghavi said the approvals reflect the State Government’s commitment to strengthening manufacturing, infrastructure development and employment generation while reinforcing Gujarat’s emergence as a preferred destination for industrial investment.

32 large projects get green signal

A committee constituted for granting Final Eligibility Certificates to large industries approved 32 industrial applications involving investments of ₹1,978.04 crore, which are expected to generate nearly 4,739 direct jobs across multiple sectors.

The approved investments span automobiles, metals, cement, concrete, plastics, ceramics, chemicals and paper manufacturing.

Among the major beneficiaries are projects located in Ahmedabad, Kutch, Gandhinagar, Bharuch, Mehsana and Morbi, reflecting the broad-based industrial expansion taking place across Gujarat.

Textile, industrial parks add fresh momentum

The Government also approved assistance for three textile units under the Scheme for Assistance to Strengthen Specific Sectors in the Textile Value Chain-2019.

The textile projects together involve investments of around ₹165 crore and are expected to create about 500 direct jobs, further consolidating Gujarat’s leadership in India’s textile value chain.

In addition, approvals were granted for industrial park projects and other manufacturing initiatives under different State incentive schemes, taking the total approved investment beyond ₹2,999 crore and the projected direct employment generation to more than 6,000 jobs.

Policy support driving industrial expansion

The State Government said the Incentives to Industries Scheme under the Industrial Policy was introduced to position Gujarat as a global investment destination by offering Net SGST reimbursement to eligible industries establishing manufacturing facilities in the State.

Officials said the policy has already facilitated investments worth ₹1,48,336.35 crore while generating 1,65,053 direct jobs, besides catalysing the growth of ancillary MSMEs and strengthening Gujarat’s industry-friendly ecosystem.

The approvals also complement the recently announced Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy-2026, which seeks to transform Gujarat into a global hub for advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, clean energy, innovation and high-value industries.

Boost to ‘Make In Gujarat’

Industry observers believe the latest approvals will reinforce investor confidence by accelerating capacity creation, strengthening supply chains and encouraging fresh investments across strategic sectors.

The projects are also expected to generate significant indirect employment through MSMEs, logistics, services and ancillary industries, thereby contributing to inclusive economic growth.

With its proactive policy framework, world-class infrastructure, efficient governance and investor-friendly incentives, Gujarat continues to consolidate its reputation as one of India’s foremost destinations for manufacturing and industrial investment.
