Around 1,100 Officers and staff of the Income Tax Department, in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Charge (TN & P) participated in the International Yoga Day, 2023 celebration on Wednesday.
Jayanthi Krishnan, IRS, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax – 1, Chennai presided over the celebrations at its headquarters in Nungambakkam, Chennai. The theme of “International Yoga Day-2023” is “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” which is a Sanskrit word meaning “The Whole World is One Family”. It is effectively encapsulating our collective aspiration for “One Earth, One Family and One Future”. The Yoga Day aims to spread awareness about the benefits of spiritual and physical practice that had first started in ancient India.

Eminent yoga teacher Dr Vikram Srinivasan conducted the Group Yoga Session. Around 300 Officers and Officials of the Income Tax Department, Chennai participated in the Session. Income Tax Department (TN & P) have organised similar events in all over Tamil Nadu & Puducherry charge. The locations were Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Puducherry, Thiruchengode, Madurai, Ooty, Pollachi, Vellore, Tiruppur, Krishnagiri and Namakkal.
