The number of COVID-19 cases in Gujarat came down to 1,021 and the state recorded deaths of six positive patients, taking total count to 3,682 on Saturday, an official said.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Ahmedabad reached 41,281 with the addition of 177 new cases on Saturday, while 133 people were discharged and two patients succumbed to the infection during the day, an official said.

The toll in the district is now 1,902 while the number of people who have recovered stands at 35,866.
“The city limits reported 164 new cases and accounted for 121 of the people discharged. The rest were in the district”s rural parts. The city’s north-west zone reported the highest number of active cases at 502, followed by the south-west zone with 491 cases, while the central zone has the lowest 318 cases,” he said.
The number of micro containment zones stood at 102 as three areas were added and five dropped.
Out of 2,002 beds available in 66 private hospitals, 1,076 are occupied, the Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association said.
In ICUs with ventilator facility, 96 beds are occupied and 63 available, it said.

Surat sees 237 new cases, 257 discharged, 3 deaths
Surat reported 237 new coronavirus positive cases on Saturday, increasing the tally in the district to 34,356, while the death toll rose by three to reach 1,005, an official said.
Surat city saw 183 people getting discharged while the number was 74 in the rural parts of the district, he said.
“Of the new cases, the city accounted for 168 and the rural areas 69. So far, 23,702 people have been discharged in Surat Municipal Corporation limits, which gives it a recovery rate of 92.30 percent,” he said.
In rural Surat, Kamrej taluka leads with 1,862 cases, followed by Choryasi with 1,818, and Umarpada having the lowest at 77.
Kamrej has witnessed 89 deaths, followed by Olpad with 40 and Bardoli with 38.
