If the title alone makes you raise an eyebrow, wait till the laughter begins! Mumbai-based production house Scene to Scene Studios (3S Movies) has chosen an intriguingly mischievous title—‘Bachelor Daddy’—to announce its grand entry into Gujarati cinema, promising a roller-coaster of comedy, emotions and contemporary family entertainment.
After making its mark with successful projects in Marathi and Hindi cinema, the production house has now set its sights on Dhollywood, with two Gujarati films planned under the banner of 3S Movies Presents and Scene to Scene Studios.
The title of the first venture, ‘Bachelor Daddy’, was unveiled at a grand media event at Pride Plaza Hotel in Ahmedabad on Thursday, bringing together the producers, director, cast and technical crew.
Producers Sanjana Vinod Tambe and Ashutosh Vinod Tambe, co-producers Hitesh Beldar and Umesh Harishchandra Tambe, and director Shantanu Anant Tambe interacted with the media, outlining their plans for the film and their Gujarati cinema journey.
When bachelorhood meets daddyhood, expect trouble—and laughter!
Described as a complete family comedy-drama, ‘Bachelor Daddy’ aims to serve up non-stop laughter while retaining the emotional warmth of a wholesome entertainer.
The film brings together Gaurav Paswala and Prem Gadhavi as the lead actors, with Kathaa Patel and Prinal Oberoi as the lead actresses. Nisarg Trivedi, Jassi Dadi, Deepa Trivedi and Komal Panchal will essay prominent roles.
Asked what audiences could expect from the pairing of two actors with distinctive screen identities, Prem Gadhavi said, “We will bring out our best according to the director’s visualisation.”
That answer perhaps says as much about the chemistry as it does about the director’s command over his actors.
‘Riots of laughter’—director’s three-word promise
The film’s writer-director Shantanu Anant Tambe was quick to put the comedy quotient front and centre.
Asked to describe the film in three words without using ‘Gujarati’, ‘entertainment’ or ‘family’, Tambe said: “Our film will be a mass entertainer with riots of laughter.”
And that may well be the film’s first official laughter guarantee.
But beneath the unusual title and comic premise, could there be something more serious waiting to emerge?
When asked whether the film had a social, emotional or contemporary message in an age when assisted reproductive technologies such as IVF have made parenthood a subject of increasingly complex conversations, Tambe smiled and said: “Please, wait and see for the film to be made and released. It carries a social, emotional or contemporary message that you want audiences to take home.”
The filmmakers are therefore keeping the central content under wraps, choosing curiosity over spoilers.
From Hindi and Marathi to Dhollywood—‘a natural’ progression
For Tambe, the move into Gujarati cinema is less a departure and more the next stop in a multi-lingual filmmaking journey.
“I have made my debut with a Hindi movie and later directed Marathi movie too. Having directed over 10 films in both languages, it is natural for me to enter into Gujarati movie now,” he said.
The production house, meanwhile, is looking beyond a Gujarat-only footprint.
From Ahmedabad to London, ‘Bachelor Daddy’ is going places
The cameras are scheduled to roll from Labh Pancham, with the film slated to reach the silver screen in 2027, producers Sanjana Vinod Tambe and Ashutosh Vinod Tambe said.
The shooting schedule will span Ahmedabad and Vadodara in Gujarat, Rajasthan and London in the UK, giving the film an international backdrop while keeping its Gujarati cinematic identity at its core.
The makers also plan a release across Gujarat and Mumbai, other parts of India and overseas markets, taking the laughter to Gujarati-speaking audiences around the world.
The technical crew includes Amit Barot, who is composing the film’s music; Hiren Chitroda, editor; Amil Macwan, costume designer; and Dipen Gohil, line producer.
With an unusual title, a multi-city shoot, a strong ensemble cast and a director promising a “mass entertainer with riots of laughter,” ‘Bachelor Daddy’ has already managed to do what every comedy hopes to achieve—make people curious before the first scene is even shot.
And if the title unveiling is any indication, this bachelor may have quite a few daddy-sized surprises up his sleeve.
