Recognising the tremendous potential of medical and wellness tourism sectors towards attaining the objective of Atmanirbhar Bharat, ICONIC1010 Hospital plans to foray into Tanzania in South Africa soon, said a senior official of the hospital here on Monday.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Dr. Parag Sheth, Senior Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeon and the CMD of ICONIC1010 Hospital, said, “Our hospital has a strong health infrastructure with many state-of-the-art healthcare facilities offering treatment across specialities. It is equipped with the latest technologies needed to conduct complex medical procedures, and have exceptional facilities for post-operative care. The facilities are managed by a highly skilled and adept healthcare workforce and administration staff led by reputed and world renowned medical practitioners and surgeons.”
Having worked in Australia and many South African countries, Dr Sheth added, “India receives most of its medical tourists from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Oman, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nigeria, Kenya and Iraq. There is a huge potential for India to realize and aggressively advance towards attracting medical tourists from these countries. To tap this vital markets, ICONIC1010 Hospital will open a hospital in Tanzania which will cater to South African Countries. Patients needing advanced treatment will be brought to Ahmedabad facility for further treatment.”
Talking about the hospital’s expansion plans, Dr Sheth said, “We have planned to open 11 hospitals over a period of seven years. Out of which, four will come up in Ahmedabad and one each in North Gujarat, Central Gujarat and South Gujarat Regions. The rest four will be set up in neighbouring states, including the one in Tanzania.”
Throwing light on the medical expenses and fees, Dr Sheth explained that their fee will be 50 percent cheaper than other corporate hospitals in Gujarat. The hospital is in talks with the Central and State governments to offer cashless treatment facility to the poor and middle-income group under PMJAY and other schemes. Giving an example of affordable fees, Dr Sheth shared that even bypass surgery patients can go home from the hospital within three days as the hospital believes in serving the humanity.
What’s in a name?
Explaining about the concept of the suffix 1010 in the hospital name, Dr Sheth said, “We are the first hospital to incorporate the numeric in our name as it has profound meaning too. 10 is the iconic number held by the best sportsmen like Sachin Tendulkar, Messy, MS Dhony on their jersies. Similarly, ICONIC1010 would be the best player in the healthcare sector.”
