Blending devotion with a message of service and sustainability, Gautam Adani and Priti Adani offered prayers at the revered Shri Ajitnath Bhagwan Shwetamber Jain Derasar on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, underscoring the spiritual significance of faith-led service and ecological responsibility.
Arriving early morning at Taranga hills, the Adani couple was welcomed by members of the Jain community before proceeding to the temple, a 12th-century architectural marvel associated with King Kumarpal and dedicated to Ajitnath.
Inside the sanctum, Gautam Adani offered prayers and performed rituals, invoking divine blessings for peace and prosperity. “Faith is not just about prayer—it is about सेवा (service), compassion and preserving what is sacred for future generations,” he reflected during the visit.
Faith meets infrastructure, heritage preservation
During interactions with temple trustee Sachin Ashokbhai Shah, discussions centred on enhancing facilities for pilgrims while maintaining the sanctity and heritage of the shrine.
“Development around sacred spaces must respect their spiritual essence and architectural legacy,” he emphasised, advocating a balanced approach between access and preservation.
Green devotion: afforestation at Taranga hills
In a significant step, the Adani Group is supporting afforestation initiatives in the Taranga hills region.
“Protecting nature around sacred sites is also an act of devotion,” Adani noted, linking ecological restoration with spiritual duty.
Akshaya Tritiya: a day of eternal merit
Regarded as one of the most auspicious days in Hindu and Jain traditions, Akshaya Tritiya symbolises prosperity, new beginnings and charity. In Jain belief, it commemorates the moment when Rishabhanatha received his first alms, establishing the sacred tradition of offering food to ascetics.
