AHMEDABAD, AUG 17

Can Patan’s Patola, Kachchhi embroidery, Ahmedabad’s Mata ni Pachedi, Banaskantha’s cumin and Amreli’s peanuts become global brands — while Vadodara’s engineering and chemical prowess powers the next export wave? That is the larger question behind an upcoming One District One Product (ODOP) Exhibition and EXIM Conclave in Vadodara, which seeks to connect Gujarat’s distinctive district-level strengths with international markets.

The GoG-AMA Centre for International Trade of Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), in association with the Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI), Baroda Management Association (BMA) and Quality Council of India (QCI), will organise the ODOP Exhibition from August 21 to 22 and the EXIM Conclave 2026 on August 22 at the FGI Business Centre, Vadodara.

The conclave, themed “Vadodara to the World: Engineering Prosperity, Unlocking Global Trade Corridors”, will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, exporters, MSMEs and trade experts to examine how Gujarat can strengthen its position as a global manufacturing and export hub.

Engineering Gujarat’s global blueprint

The EXIM Conclave will open with a keynote address by Dr Hemang Joshi, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), on “Positioning Gujarat as a Global Engineering Hub”.

Anupam Kumar, Joint DGFT, RA, Vadodara, will deliver the inaugural address on “Gujarat’s Export Vision for 2047”, setting the tone for discussions on the State’s long-term international trade ambitions.

The welcome address will be delivered by Unmesh Dixit, Executive Director, AMA; Sameer Khera, President, FGI; and Dr Mangla Chouhan, President, BMA.

A key panel, “The Global Blueprint: Taking District Engineering and Chemical Clusters to the World”, will bring together Vikram Singhal, Managing Director, Gulbrandsen Technologies (India) Pvt. Ltd.; Ujjval Shah, Director, Prakash Chemicals International Pvt. Ltd.; and Pranav Doshi, Senior Vice President, FGI and Director, Urja Power Pvt. Ltd. The session will be moderated by Priyanka Verma, Deputy Secretary General, FGI.

Can Gujarat’s MSMEs break the border barrier?

As exporters confront changing trade rules, fragmented markets and increasingly complex compliance requirements, the conclave will turn the spotlight on the practical challenges facing MSMEs.

A special session by Dr Bhumi Rajyaguru, Joint Director, NABL, Quality Council of India, will focus on “Navigating NABL Accreditation for Global Market Entry”, highlighting the importance of internationally accepted testing and accreditation standards for exporters seeking overseas markets.

The FTA landscape will come under the microscope in a special masterclass by Ankit Majmudar, Founder & CEO, Global Business Solutions and AMA EXIM Faculty, on “The New Trade Paradigm: How Recent FTAs Level the Playing Field for Indian Businesses.”

The panel “Breaking the Border Friction: Opportunities for MSMEs Navigating Fragmented Global Trade” will feature K. V. Mori, General Manager, District Industries Center, Government of Gujarat, and Ketan Parikh, Partner, SD Intermediate. The discussion will be moderated by Manisha Thaker, Vice President, TRIALLIANCE Global Solutions, EXIM Faculty, AMA Trainer and Logistics Expert.

AI, e-commerce enter the export cockpit

Technology will form another key pillar of the conclave, with Rutvij Vora, Co-Founder & CEO, Satark AI, and Pooja Sant, Manager – Inside Sales, Logibeats Freight Services Pvt. Ltd., addressing “Leveraging E-Commerce, Digital Marketplaces, and AI for Export Promotion.”

The session will explore how digital marketplaces, artificial intelligence and e-commerce can help smaller businesses overcome traditional barriers to international market access and expand their export reach.

The programme will conclude with closing remarks and a vote of thanks.

Gujarat’s 33 districts, one global marketplace

Running alongside the conclave, the two-day ODOP Exhibition will provide a platform for regional products from across Gujarat’s 33 districts, with the emphasis on turning local strengths into globally competitive products.

The exhibition will showcase traditional crafts and agricultural products, including Patan’s Patola, Kachchhi hand embroidery, Ahmedabad’s Mata ni Pachedi block prints, Banaskantha’s cumin and Amreli’s peanuts.

The organisers see the exhibition as more than a display of Gujarat’s cultural and agricultural diversity. It is designed as a trade-networking and market-access platform, particularly for small manufacturers, artisans and emerging product clusters.

Curated segments will spotlight handicrafts, handloom, Khadi, eco-friendly stationery and healthy millet products, with the objective of providing grassroots producers with strategies and opportunities to move towards wider markets.

Two days to connect Gujarat with the world

The ODOP Exhibition will be open to visitors free of charge from 11 am to 6 pm on August 21 and 22.

The EXIM Conclave 2026 will be held on August 22 from 9.30 am to 5 pm at the FGI Business Centre, Vadodara, with entry through registration.

Together, the exhibition and conclave seek to create a continuum from district-level products to global markets — pairing Gujarat’s traditional strengths with engineering, chemicals, technology, standards, trade agreements and digital commerce.
