Riding high on the recent wins in the Gujarat Civic polls, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to take on the ruling BJP in its citadel — Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation elections, which also falls under Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s Lok Sabha constituency.

AAP has on Saturday released the first list of 23 candidates for the upcoming Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation elections.

Speaking to the media, AAP’s state chief Gopal Italia said, “The party will contest on all seats of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation. Further, there is no difference between the BJP and Congress. We appeal to voters to bring about a sea-change in the state capital by giving it a clear mandate for ’Delhi model governance’ in the municipal corporation.”
AAP said from ward number 10 Heena Diwan Patel Sangeetaben, Hardik Talati, and Virendrasinh Gohil will contest while Jayshree Vaghela, Hetalben Patel, Divyag Trivedi, and Mahipat Gadhvi will contest from ward no 9.
