When 68 international delegates from 17 countries stepped into the colourful rhythm of Garba, Ahmedabad became a meeting ground for cultures, traditions and shared celebration. The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) brought the global gathering together at JHANKAAR ’26, a vibrant Garba night on Friday that offered visiting participants an immersive experience of Gujarat’s festive spirit.

The celebration brought together the Institute’s Director-General, faculty members, students, alumni, dignitaries from the State Government and participants of its ongoing international training programmes. Dressed in traditional Gujarati attire, including kediyas and chaniya cholis, the international delegates enthusiastically joined the music and dance, embracing a cultural tradition that brings communities together through rhythm, colour and collective participation.

The 68 delegates are attending two training programmes under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The programmes—New Enterprise Creation and Skill Upgradation and Informal Sector, Enterprise and Local Economic Development—are being conducted from October 14 to 27, 2026.

Beyond the training sessions, JHANKAAR ’26 offered participants an opportunity to experience Gujarat’s living cultural heritage firsthand. The evening encouraged interaction across nationalities and backgrounds, fostering camaraderie and cultural exchange through a shared celebration.

For the international delegates, the Garba night was more than a festive interlude: it was an opportunity to experience the warmth of local traditions and connect with Gujarat beyond the classroom. At EDII, entrepreneurship education and cultural immersion came together in an evening where the language of dance needed no translation.
