The Indian Army has strengthened its welfare ecosystem for serving personnel and veterans with the inauguration of the Golden Palm Complex at Secunderabad by the General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Bharat Area, Lieutenant General V Sreehari, marking another significant milestone in enhancing the quality of life of the nation’s Armed Forces community.

  • Lieutenant General V Sreehari inaugurates modern accommodation complex for serving personnel, veterans and dependants of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard
  • Strategically located facility expands the Indian Army’s welfare network after Bengaluru and Chennai, offering affordable short- and long-term stays
  • Initiative reinforces the Army’s enduring commitment to honouring service, strengthening camaraderie and supporting the extended military family

The state-of-the-art facility has been developed to provide affordable, comfortable and well-appointed accommodation in both single and double-occupancy configurations for serving personnel, veterans and dependants of the Tri-Services—the Army, Navy and Air Force—as well as the Indian Coast Guard. Designed to cater to both short-term and long-term stays, the complex offers quality lodging for the extended Armed Forces fraternity.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the General Officer Commanding, Headquarters Telangana & Andhra Sub Area, alongside serving personnel and veterans from the Secunderabad Military Station. During the programme, Lieutenant General V Sreehari also interacted virtually with stakeholders and reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to expanding welfare initiatives for its personnel and veterans. He later handed over assistance to a Veer Naari, underscoring the Army’s continued support for the families of fallen soldiers.

Strategically located in the heart of Secunderabad, the Golden Palm Complex enjoys excellent connectivity, with the Jubilee Bus Stand and two Metro stations located nearby, ensuring convenient access for beneficiaries from across the region.

Established under the aegis of the Chennai-based Headquarters Dakshin Bharat Area, the Secunderabad facility joins the network of Golden Palm complexes already functioning successfully in Bengaluru and Chennai. The Chennai complex was inaugurated in April 2026, reflecting the Indian Army’s sustained efforts to expand welfare infrastructure across its Area of Responsibility.

The Golden Palm initiative embodies the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of its extended family. By creating modern, accessible and affordable accommodation facilities, the Army continues to strengthen the enduring bonds of trust, camaraderie and belonging among serving soldiers, veterans and their families while recognising their invaluable contribution to national service.
