Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will celebrate Diwali with armed forces personnel on Wednesday in Kutch district’s Dhordo village on Thursday, while he will celebrate the new year in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad on Friday.
A government release said various cultural programmes on the theme of the Tricolour have been organised at Dhordo between 4 pm and 6 pm on November 3 as part of Diwali celebrations.

Jawans of the Army, Navy, Border Security Force, Coast Guard and Gujarat police along with their musical bands will perform in these cultural programmes to be attended by Patel, said the release.
Local residents and NCC cadets have been invited to witness the event and perform, it added.
Patel is taking ahead a tradition set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who celebrate Diwali with security personnel and their family members to boost their morale, the release stated.
Chief Minister will greet people in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad on New Year Day
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will visit Panchdev temple in Gandhinagar on the occasion of the new year – Vikram Samvat 2078 – on Friday, November 5 at 7 am and Trimandir at Adalaj at 7.25 am for darshan and pooja.
He will remain present at the community centre at residence complex of ministers from 8- 8.45 am and greet citizens for the new year. The CM will be at Annexe Circuit House, Shahibaug from 10.45 to 11.45 am. He will also visit Bhadrakali temple at 10.20 am. The CM will also remain present at the Police Officers’ mess at Shahibaug to greet senior police officers and their family members, a CMO release said.
