The Gujarat Journalists Union (GJU), affiliated to the Indian Journalists Union (IJU), has unanimously elected senior journalist and activist Natubhai Bhatt as the new general secretary, said BR Prajapati, president, GJU and IJU, on Saturday.
According to GJU-IJU president BR Prajapati, the GUJ State Executive Committee meeting held at its office in Ahmedabad on Saturday, July 30, 2022 has suspended GJU general secretary BM Chaudhuri from the primary membership of the GJU with immediate effect.
“This action has been taken against him for his misbehavior and raising baseless allegations against the GJU leadership, including the IJU President, GJU Executive Committee members and other senior members. The GJU Executive committee felt that Chaudhuri is in league with KB Pandit and Suresh Akhouri thus indulging in anti-IJU and GJU activities,” says a release.
With an avowed aim to work for the welfare of all journalists and to lead the GJU with team spirit, the GUJ Executive Committee has unanimously elected senior journalist and social activist Natubhai Bhatt as the new general secretary of Gujarat Journalists Union.
All members of the GJU and IJU are hereby informed not to deal with Chaudhuri and extend their cooperation to the newly-elected general secretary Natubhai Bhatt, says G Prabhakaran Secretary General, IJU.
