There is tremendous enthusiasm among the citizens of the city towards this camp and a large number of people have registered through Missed Call. In this three-day program, people will learn yoga every day in the morning-evening session, important information about the benefits of yoga and develop a commitment to propagate and spread the yoga culture around them.

Giving details of the programme to the media, Shishpal Rajput, Chairman, Gujarat State Yoga Board and Yoga Sevak, said, “We have received a very positive response from the public for the free yoga camp. India has given an invaluable gift of yoga to the whole world and today people all over the world are aware of the benefits of yoga. We have always strived to deepen the roots of yoga culture in our country and attract more people to perform yoga. ”

He added, “Yoga has proved to be very useful in combating many serious ailments. Currently, a large number of people are experiencing side effects from the COVID-19 pandemic even after winning the battle against the disease. In this situation, yoga can be very useful in moving towards a healthy lifestyle once again. Through the yoga camp, we aim to spread awareness among the people about the importance of yoga for physical and mental health and overall well-being. I am confident that the people of Ahmedabad will fully support our mission and contribute to the realization of the dream of a disease-free Gujarat. ”

To a query on Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani getting cured of COVID-19 in two days, the CM was a regular yoga practitioner and this has helped him to recuperate well.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Minister of State, Co-Operation, Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities (Independent Charge) Ishwarsinh T Patel will take part in this mega camp which is expected to be attended by over 50,000 people.

COVID guidelines issued by the administration as well as the rules regarding social distance, wearing of masks, use of sanitizers, etc. will be followed strictly.

The Board has so far trained over 1,500 yoga instructors under its 100-day certificate programme and the course is open to all, Rajput added.
