The National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC), a flagship program for students of 10 to 17 years of age group, both for formal and informal school of learning, has been organized from Friday to Tuesday, 27th to 31st January 2023 at Gujarat Science City. The program is supported and catalyzed by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and hosted by the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST) at Gujarat Science City and SAL Education Campus, Ahmedabad.
Gujarat will have the privilege of hosting the National Children’s Science Congress for the fourth time. Students from all States/UTs of India along with Gulf countries are coming together to Science City for this prestigious scientific festival and to present their new and innovative scientific discoveries in this program.

Students at the district level in various states presented their projects to the committee on this theme. The teams from the State Level and Gulf Countries, hereby selected, will represent their respective States/Countries and present their projects at the National Level during these five days.

Another highlight of the National Children’s Science Congress program is that students can present their projects in any language. NCSC program was launched in 1993 to provide a platform for children to be rational and apply scientific methods to find solutions to local problems, do research and find solutions.

GUJCOST provided a platform to the bright students living far away by taking charge of the National Child Science Congress program from school level to taluka level and from taluka level to district level under which GUJCOST organized the 30th State Level National Child Science Congress at Gujarat Science City from 22nd to 24th December.
The respective evaluators critically analyzed all the submissions made before them and selected a total of 26 teams to represent the state of Gujarat in the National Level NCSC program to be held during 27th to 31st January, 2023 and 2 teams for the Indian Science Congress.
Recently, in the 108th Indian Science Congress held at Nagpur, Maharashtra, two students from Gujarat, Jagrat and Vriti represented Gujarat and presented their projects based on their newly created ideas at the national level.
658 child scientists from different states, 250 guide teachers and 92 state coordinators will participate in this National Children Science Congress at Science City and SAL Campus from 27th to 31st January, 2023. The event will also be participated by 17 National Academic Committee, 70 scientific jury members, 15 eminent scientists and resource persons and Government officials. More than 1400 people are expected to participate in this event. Also, 18 contestants from Gulf countries will present their projects.
The 5-day event will feature student project presentations as well as numerous activities including cultural programs, special talks, interactive sessions, drone workshops, visits to various thematic galleries of Science City. Apart from this, a poster presentation program will be held at the SAL Education Campus. In addition, a rally will be held by students to spread awareness about climate change. NCSC Alumni Meet will be held in hybrid mode in the program in which previous Alumni will meet and discuss extensively about NCSC.
A special “Meet the Scientist” Session will be held during this National Children’s Science Congress, in which famous scientists like Shri Nilesh Desai, Director, SAC-ISRO, Dr. Rajat Moona, Director, IIT Gandhinagar, Dr. Deepak Sharma, Scientific Officer (G) BARC, Mumbai etc. will present their subject knowledge on different issues to the students and the people attending the program. Apart from this, the students will visit the world famous ‘Statue of Unity’ at Ekta Nagar.
A dedicated exhibition hall is being developed where premier institutes like ISRO, CSMCRI, CGCRI, GIDM, IMD, PRL, IIPH, NIF, ISR, Dept. of Post, IIT Gandhinagar and various startups will showcase their technologies and activities. GUJCOST invites all the school children to visit the exhibition to learn more.
