Gujarat has once again demonstrated that it is not merely a destination on India’s tourism map but a powerful engine driving the country’s travel economy, as TTF Ahmedabad 2026 signed off on a spectacular note with Gujarat Tourism bagging the Best Decoration Award under the Big Pavilion category, alongside Karnataka Tourism, while Goa Tourism won the award for promoting spiritual tourism.

The three-day tourism extravaganza at Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar, has sent an unmistakable message to the national travel industry: Gujarat is emerging as the nerve centre of Western India’s travel trade, even as India’s vast and diverse tourism potential continues to attract unprecedented business interest.

Organised by Fairfest Media, TTF Ahmedabad 2026, held from August 6 to 8, witnessed 16,500-plus visitors and more than 900 exhibitors from 27 Indian States and Union Territories and 10 countries. More significantly, trade visitor participation rose 10% over the previous edition, signalling strong travel demand ahead of the festive and winter seasons.

The event was inaugurated by Bhupendrabhai Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, as Chief Guest. Harsh Sanghavi, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat; Satpal Maharaj, Minister for Tourism, Public Works, Irrigation, Culture, Rural Works & Minor Irrigation, Uttarakhand; Rohan A. Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Printing & Stationery, Goa; and Kuldeep Arya, IAS, Secretary, Tourism, Government of Gujarat, were Guests of Honour.

The occasion also brought together senior tourism officials, including Dr Vipin Garg, IAS, Commissioner of Tourism & Managing Director, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, and Y. S. Chaudhari, IAS, Joint Managing Director, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited.

Gujarat pavilion shines as national tourism converges

With Gujarat Tourism as the Host State, the event provided the State with a powerful platform to showcase its heritage, spirituality, wildlife, coastline, cuisine, cultural experiences and emerging tourism circuits to travel trade representatives from across India and overseas.

The recognition for Gujarat Tourism under the Big Pavilion category added another highlight to the State’s impressive showing at an event that brought India’s tourism spectrum together under one roof.

Goa, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Rajasthan, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka participated as Partner States, while West Bengal, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Delhi and Meghalaya participated as Feature States.

The international dimension was equally strong, with Israel as the Feature Country and participation from destinations including Vietnam, Sri Lanka, the UAE, Nepal, the USA, China, Thailand and Bhutan.

Three days of business, not merely footfall

TTF Ahmedabad 2026 featured destination showcases, B2B meetings, travel product presentations and trade engagement involving tourism boards, travel companies, hospitality brands, airlines, attractions, destination management companies and travel technology providers.

Private sector participation included Holiday Mechanic, The Travel Nexus, Travelplug, Evoke Experiences, Radisson Hotel Group, Sayaji Hotels, Sarovar Hotels, ZANA Luxury Escapes, Maitri Visa & Travel Services, Treat Hotels & Resorts, Booking Junction, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Shankus Waterpark & Resort, among many others.

The event also received the backing of a wide cross-section of travel and tourism associations, underlining the industry’s strong support for the Ahmedabad edition.

“Three days of serious business”

Sanjiv Agarwal, Chairman & CEO, Fairfest Media Limited, summed up the significance of the event: “Presence of four senior ministers from three states at TTF Ahmedabad signifies the importance of travel and tourism in India’s economy. The industry now sees its opportunity, especially in the domestic market, and in Gujarat in particular. With trade visitors up 10%, these were three days of serious business, not footfall — and the buying appetite we saw on the floor points to a very strong festive and winter season ahead. Our thanks to the exhibitors, tourism boards, buyers and partners who made it happen.”

His observation underlined the larger transformation underway in India’s tourism economy, where domestic travel is becoming an increasingly powerful growth engine, while Gujarat’s affluent and highly travel-active market is emerging as a key source of demand.

Ahmedabad emerges as Western India’s travel-trade anchor

A strong economy, rising disposable incomes and a vibrant travel culture have positioned Gujarat among India’s most important travel markets as well as a destination with immense potential.

That strength has helped TTF Ahmedabad evolve into the largest show in the TTF series, occupying more than twice the exhibition space of any other edition and attracting the highest number of exhibitors across the series.

The closing ceremony therefore served as more than a curtain call. It was a celebration of Gujarat’s growing tourism influence and India’s expanding travel economy, with the State providing the stage for destinations from across the country and the world to connect with Western India’s powerful travel-trade community.

As the curtains came down on TTF Ahmedabad 2026, the message from Gandhinagar was unmistakable: Gujarat is ready to lead the next chapter of India’s tourism boom — and India’s travellers are ready to explore.
