Chennai-based Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) has, on Saturday, announced the dates for HITSEEE, an online entrance examination for engineering streams & HITSCAT online entrance examination for Liberal Arts & Applied Sciences, Law, Management, Allied Health Sciences, Nursing and Pharmacy.
Announcing this at a press conference, Dr S N Sridhara, Vice Chancellor, HITS said the HITSEEE (Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science Engineering Entrance Examination) online exams for admission in engineering streams for the upcoming academic year will be held from 3rd May 2024 to 10th May 2024. The registration for the HITSEEE examinations commenced on 16th December 2023 and will close on 29th April 2023.
Similarly, the HITSCAT (Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science Common Aptitude Test) 2024, that is used to assess and shortlist applicants for Non-Engineering programme is scheduled from May 20th and May 21st 2024. The HITSCAT 2024 registrations open from December 16th 2023 and closes on 13th May 2024.
The Vice Chancellor said that the HITS have recently recognized by National and International Agencies including NAAC A +, IET, NBA.
The university continues to grow by leaps and bounds and currently have 8 academic divisions offering over 100+ programmes across various domains and has recently introduced pharmacy, nursing and MBA in Aviation safety management programmes.
Executive Diploma programme for working professionals
Dr Sridhara also revealed that HITS going to launch week-end Executive Diploma Programme for working professionals from next academic year.
Career guidance programme for civil services
The management of HITS also decided to launch a free career guidance programme for civil services like IAS, IPS, IRS & IFS etc to the aspiring students pursuing degree courses in the university, he added.
HITS to launch micro-satellite soon
HITS plans to launch a micro-satellite in association with ISRO to monitor water levels of water bodies in and around Chennai city soon. It has invested over Rs. 1.20 crore for the project and around 400 students from various engineering streams are working on it, Dr Sridhara added.
Dr. Alexander Jesudasan, Pro Vice Chancellor, HITS explained in detail on the salient features of the University. He also recalled the vision of the founder Dr. K.C.G. Verghese, which are turning into a reality with the advent of such programs and blossoming of the group into a big edifice.
He also thanked the chancellor, Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese for being a pillar of strength and a force of support behind the successful launch of Admissions 2024.
Scholarship
Rank Holders at national level in both HITSEEE and HITSCAT 2024 will be awarded with a 100% tuition fee waiver.
Numerous scholarships have been introduced by HITS to attract meritorious students from different walks of life and the University has been consistently providing scholarships totaling over 5 crores to deserving and meritorious students every year.
