Air Cushion Vehicle (ACV) Hangar at Indian Coast Guard Station at Mandapam in Rameswaram, was inaugurated by Dr. C Sylendra Babu, Director General of Police and HoPF (Tamil Nadu) on Thursday in the presence of Director General of ICG Krishnaswamy Natarajan, PVSM, PTM, TM and other senior officials from Coast Guard, Navy and Central/State Government Organisation.

ACV Hangar has a Ramp which is constructed 15 mtrs on land and 7.5 mtrs inside sea for safe launching/ recovery of ACVs.
The Hangar can cater a load of 4.5 T/Sqm and can accommodate ACVs for safe berthing and maintenance which will enhance life of ACVs and will also enable in-house repairs in order to save Government exchequer.
