GANDHINAGAR, NOV 7
As a part of the ongoing Foundation Programme (FP) 2022 for the IITGN undergraduate batch of 2022, 288 B.Tech’22 freshers, along with the Centre for Creative Learning (CCL) team, created a 7.3 square metre string art of the IIT Gandhinagar logo by interlinking 4000 straight lines in a circle with black threads on Monday.
It took four hours for the students to make this large exhibit. The 10 feet diameter circle was divided into 300 equidistant, and students joined strings among these points to create the logo.
Students also wrote ‘IIT GANDHINAGAR’ and ‘FP 22’ in a similar fashion – a circle with 150 points in each circle and 1500 straight lines to create each alphabet. The sequence of connecting strings is algorithmically generated by the CCL team based on the pixel intensity of the image, says a release from IIT Gandhinagar
