Sachin-Jigar is the dynamic composer duo behind some of the best Hindi songs of recent times, and they don’t cease to amaze us with every film they take up. But could you imagine some of their songs, that have managed to become our favorites, were rejected in the first go?
The duo revealed on MX Player’s Times of Music that some of their rejected songs included the much loved Saibo, Chaar Baj Gaye, and Jeena Jeena!
Jigar emphasized saying, “Jeena Jeena’ was one song that was rejected, and another song was asked to be made by someone else behind our backs. One of the producers said that this song is a flop. Another song that got rejected was Chaar Baj Gaye Lekin Party Abhi Baaki Hai and the third was Nacho Saare Ji Phaad Ke”
Sachin added, “Someone told us after listening to ‘Saibo’ that this song is not from an album but from the band Kailasa. There was no problem in rejecting the song, but when the song was released and went on to become a super hit, it was the caller tune of the producer who rejected the song earlier.”
Being in the industry, the duo soon realized that their aim is to make music for people and not for actors to lip-sync to.
Jigar said, “Sachin is an expert when it comes to forgetting lyrics, and one day, we were both twining and both of us forgot the lyrics to the song ‘Saibo’. We both started with Mann Yeh Saahib Ji, Mann Yeh Saahib Ji , Mann Yeh Saahib Ji hmmm…and the next moment we looked at each other and looked at the crowd and realized that there were around 6000 people in the crowd, all of them singing…Naina Nawaabi Ji…Both of us just watched and the whole song was sung by the crowd. That day, I made a promise to us that from now on – we’re not going to make songs just for actors to lip-sync, but we will make songs that fans can sing from their hearts”
Episode 6 of the show will see Dr. Palash Sen of Euphoria recreate Sachin-Jigar’s Saibo and the dynamic duo Sachin-Jigar will be seen presenting Euphoria’s Dhoom Pichuk & Maeri.
