Reliance Jio Infocomm has strengthened its connectivity footprint in Gujarat, with its wireline subscriber base reaching 9.43 lakh and commanding a 49.81% market share in August 2026, even as its wireless subscriber base crossed 3.41 crore, according to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
Jio’s wireless subscriber base in Gujarat stood at 3.41 crore at the end of August, giving it a 46.18% share of the State’s wireless market. The operator added 2.11 lakh net wireless subscribers during the month, the highest net addition among operators in the Gujarat telecom circle.
The company’s Visitor Location Register (VLR) ratio stood at 101.35% during August. On the basis of the reported ratio, the number of active subscribers works out to approximately 3.45 crore. A VLR ratio above 100% can occur because of inbound roamers and is consistent with TRAI’s reporting methodology.
The stronger showing came in the wireline segment, where Jio added 6,993 connections during August, taking its total subscriber base to 9.43 lakh and its market share to 49.81%.
Jio also continued to expand its 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) footprint in Gujarat. Its 5G FWA subscriber base reached 4.87 lakh, with 6,054 net additions recorded during August.
The company’s UBR FWA segment also registered significant additions, with 16,540 new connections during the month. This took the total UBR FWA subscriber base in Gujarat to 3.67 lakh.
The August figures underline the continuing shift towards a broader connectivity ecosystem in Gujarat, spanning conventional mobile services, fibre and other wireline connections, as well as 5G-based fixed wireless access.
TRAI released its Telecom Subscription Data as on August 2026 on September 28, providing the latest monthly snapshot of subscriber trends across India’s telecom circles.
