Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday that his party will form the government in Gujarat in 2027.

2️⃣महंगाई
केंद्र सरकार व्यावहारिक, ठोस कदम उठाए

Speaking at the national council meeting in New Delhi, Kejriwal also said AAP is a true-in-nature national party apart from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress.
On the issue of tension at the Indo-China border, Kejriwal said that India should boycott Chinese items and stop buying China-made articles.

While AAP, fighting its maiden battle in the BJP bastion of Gujarat, managed to win five seats, Kejriwal said he is happy with the performance of his team.
“With 14 per cent vote and 5 MLAs in Gujarat, we became the national party. “People milk cows, but in Gujarat, we milked the bull,” Kejriwal joked.
Reminding the audience of Punjab, where AAP came to power in its second attempt, Kejriwal expressed confidence that his party will repeat the act in Gujarat in 2027.
“Some people ask me if we failed in Gujarat. But in history, it never happened that a party formed the government in its first attempt,” Kejriwal said.
“I can assure you that, like in Punjab, we will form the government in Gujarat the second time around. In 2027, we will form the government in Gujarat,” Kejriwal said.
“AAP is the only party in the country that managed to form the government within one year of its formation and become a national party within 10 years,” he added.
Speaking on the issue of the Indo-China border dispute, Kejriwal said that on the one hand, Indian soldiers, who valiantly guard the borders, were attacked and killed by China, and on the other hand, the central government failed to take steps to address our business concerns with China.
“In 2020-21, we bought items worth $65 billion from China. At the same time, China kept threatening us at our borders. However, in place of taking some serious measures against China, we bought items worth $95 billion from China in 2022,” Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal said he doesn’t understand what the central government is doing and why they are so helpless. “Why do we depend on China for articles like slippers, sunglasses, or clothes? We could manufacture them in our country. From this stage today, I request all our countrymen to boycott China-made items and stop buying them,” he said.
Kejriwal also said that his party is based on three ideologies – kattar deshbhkt, kattar imaandaar and kattar Insaniyat.
Kejriwal also said the people are warming up to the party as they acknowledge and understand the work done by AAP. “People got bored with the same fight between political parties. They abuse each other. But we came with a new culture. We talked about issues that affect common people like water, electricity, school etc. People liked it and that’s why they voted for us,” he added.
The AAP on Sunday held its national council meeting and discussed national security, inflation, and unemployment, the party’s Delhi convener Gopal Rai said.
The party will submit its recommendations to the Centre on these three issues, he said.
“Being a national party, we have decided to expand our base state-wise depending on the political situation there and in the next six months our aim will be to strengthen or formation of our state committees,” Rai told reporters in a press conference.
“We will focus on the states where elections will be conducted,” he added.
Rai said that if there is one thing people across the country are fed up of, it’s inflation.
“The Centre tried to trick people during elections by reducing certain prices but inflation shot up again after the elections. It is the responsibility of the government to look after this. We will appeal to the centre for the same,” he added.
Pankaj Gupta, another Aam Aadmi Party leader, said: “Our national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has laid down the roadmap for our national party.”
