In yet another case of man-animal conflict, a farmer was attacked and injured by a wild leopard while he was working in his farm in Sankhda village under Una taluka of Gir-Somnath district in Gujarat on Friday. a forest official said.
According to Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) D T Vasavada, the incident took place in the village close to Jasadhar range and Simar beat of the Gir forests.
“The farmer identified as Bharat Gohil ( 35) has been injured by a leopard when he was working in his castor farm. He has sustained injuries on face, hand, and head and has been admitted to a hospital at Una. Field staff has visited the hospital and another team has set a cage at the incident place to nab the beast,” he added.
