Prayas Trust, an NGO led by the spouses and women employees of L&T, reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive healthcare by organising a Mega Eye Camp at Narayana Babu Vidyalaya, Chennai, delivering free vision care to over 269 underprivileged beneficiaries.

Conducted in partnership with Aravind Eye Hospital and supported by L&T CSR, the camp offered comprehensive eye screenings, free spectacles and critical surgical interventions. Of the beneficiaries examined, 163 received free spectacles, while 18 patients were identified and provided with free cataract surgeries at Aravind Eye Hospital.
Targeted Care with Lasting Impact
The initiative ensured end-to-end vision care — from diagnosis to treatment — with cataract patients being scheduled for surgery at no cost. The camp is part of Prayas Trust’s sustained focus on preventive and curative eye health, a programme that has benefited over 2,600 people in the region over the past decade.
By addressing avoidable blindness and vision impairment, the Trust continues to restore not just eyesight, but dignity, mobility and independence among vulnerable communities.
