PRAYAGRAJ, FEB 13
As lakhs of devotees gather at the Maha Kumbh Mela, roads in Prayagraj have become major choke points. Most roads in the city are clogged with vehicles and thousands of devotees walking for hours to reach their destinations. Travel time to Prayagraj from the nearby cities has increased by 3 to 4 times and some of the arterial roads have jams extending for 10-12 kms.

To help the stranded devotees, Adani-ISKCON volunteers have started distributing food along the congested roads. The volunteers are also distributing Mahaprasad among the security personnel who are managing the crowds.
The Adani Group and the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) have joined hands to serve meals to devotees at the Maha Kumbh Mela. The Mahaprasad Seva is being offered every day and the service will continue for the entire duration of the mela, which will end on February 26. Nearly 2,500 volunteers are involved in this initiative.
More than 45 crore devotees have attended the Maha Kumbh Mela since 13 January, when it started and by 11 February morning, about 50 lakh devotees had reportedly taken the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam.
Roads leading to Sangam Ghat, one of the busiest ghats in the Kumbh mela area, are completely blocked. Thousands of police personnel have been deployed across the city to manage the crowd. In the last three days, about 15 lakh vehicles have entered Prayagraj.
