These registered NCC Cadets will thereafter make an endeavour to register 100 eligible adults in the period of one month. In addition webinars, lectures, awareness campaign on NCC Platforms, twitter and quiz competitions, poetry, street plays and voters pledge and other social service and development activities are also being organised for making the drive successful. “NCC, in recent times has achieved immense value and a status wherein it is being utilised as force multiplier by the Government of India for propagating each and every important project, activity of nation building. #EkMaiSauKeLiye campaign is an important chain of events being conducted by NCC. So far six phases have been launched and culminated with great success. All previous phases were conducted in highly professional manner, with lots of zeal and keeping the COVID-19 protocols in mind. The launch of Phase 7 will also showcase Gujarat NCC at national level like the last six phases,” Major General added..

Throwing more light on the enrolment of first-time voters, state Additional Chief Electoral Officer RK Patel said, “Casting a vote is a constitutional right of each responsible citizen of India who has attained the age of 18 years on January 1, 2022 and above. Each vote casted has a tremendous value and leads to formation of government by elected representatives and leaders who ensure that country is strong, safe and has bright future for every citizen. Gujarat NCC Directorate has 70,000 cadets spread across the state. With each one enlisting 100 eligible voters from the educational campuses and in their surroundings, we will be able to enrol maximum number of voters by November 30.”

Answering a query on online enrolment, Patel said, “Out of the 7 lakh new enrolment, nearly 60 percent of them were made online. Digital savvy citizens can download the app or visit the https://www.nvsp.in/ to register online and others can register offline. The SEC is holding special enrollment drive on November 14, 21, 27 and 28 where booth-level officers will remain present in all the polling booths across Gujarat and citizens can reach out to make changes or additions to the voters list.
