Gujarat on Sunday reported 1,411 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total count of infections to 1,33,219, the state health department said.
With 10 more persons succumbing to the infection, including three in Ahmedabad, the cumulative toll went up to 3,419, it said.
A total of 1,231 patients were discharged in the day, taking the total count of recoveries in the state to 1,13,140, the department said, adding that the number of active cases now stands at 16,660.
The state”s case recovery rate has improved to 84.93 percent.
Of the 10 fatalities, two each occurred in Vadodara and Surat, while one person died each in Bhavnagar, Junagadh, and Rajkot, the department said.
At 269, Surat reported the highest number of new cases in the day in the state, followed by Ahmedabad with 197 infections.
Rajkot and Vadodara added 171 and 133 patients, respectively, it said.
Among other districts, Jamnagar reported 99 cases, Mehsana 52, Bhavnagar 47, Gandhinagar 45, Banaskantha 36, Kutch and Surendranagar 34 each, Amreli 30, Junagadh 29, Patan 27, Morbi 24, Bharuch 21, Sabarkantha 19, Panchmahal 18, Anand and Kheda 16 each, Dahod and Tapi 12 each, while Mahisagar and Navsari added 11 cases each.
60,357 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the state, at the rate of 928.57 tests per day per million population, it said.
A total of 42,32,408 tests have been conducted so far.

Ahmedabad district adds 197 fresh cases; tally 36,245
The number of COVID-19 patients in Ahmedabad district rose to 36,245 on Sunday with a single-day addition of 197 cases, the Gujarat health department said.
With three deaths, all in the city, the number of fatalities in the district went up to 1,819, it said.
Of the 197 new cases, 178 were from Ahmedabad city and 19 from rural areas.
A total of 202 patients were discharged in the day, including 175 in the city and 27 in rural parts, taking the number of recoveries to 30,126, the department said in a release.
Meanwhile, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Sunday said it collected a fine of over Rs 5.5 crore so far from violators, including citizens and commercial establishments, of COVID-19 norms.
The civic body has expressed concerns over a large section of people violating COVID-19 guidelines related to maintaining social distance and wearing face masks in the city, and released several photographs.
The AMC said such complacency poses risks to the lives of elderly people and those with comorbid conditions, as their family members can catch infection outside if they don”t follow norms.
269 new cases, 2 deaths in Surat, 283 discharged
The number of COVID-19 cases in Surat increased by 269 on Sunday to touch 27,281, while two deaths during the day took the toll to 925, an official said.
He said 283 people were discharged during the day, comprising 183 in city limits and 100 in the rural areas.
The number of people who have been discharged so far stood at 18,864, giving the city a recovery rate of 90 percent, the official added.
Of the fresh cases, 51 were in Athwa locality in the city, which now has an overall count of 3,760, while Udhna has the lowest with 1,724, as per the Surat Municipal Corporation.
The SMC has so far surveyed 9.2 lakh people in areas where cases have been reported, with 34,327 people in home isolation, officials said.
In rural Surat, out of nine talukas, Kamrej has reported the highest number of 1,411 cases so far, followed by Choryasi with 1,331, and Bardoli with 1,201.
Kamrej also tops with 82 deaths, followed by Olpad and Bardoli with 32 each.
