AHMEDABAD, MARCH 20

Vivek Agnihotri directed The Kashmir Files was screened at Akshay Apartment on RC Technical College Road which falls under Chief Minister Bhupenda Patel’s Assembly constituency – Ghatlodia in Ahmedabad amidst chanting of ‘Vande Matram’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jay’ on Friday night.

Thank you Hon. Governor of UP @anandibenpatel for hosting us and appreciating our film #TheKashmirFiles. It delights me to learn that you saw it in a cinema hall with your family. Indian Film Industry will flourish when more films like #TheKashmirFiles revive theatre business. pic.twitter.com/fB2xwO0v9P

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the film and it has also been made tax-free in many states, including Gujarat, MP, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh. Many BJP leaders encouraged people to watch the film, and have also organised free screening of ‘The Kashmir Files.’

22 years ago, on this day, 35 Sikhs were lined up and shot in cold blood by Islamist Terrorists in Chittisinghpora, Kashmir.

Terrorism doesn’t spare anyone. If you don’t speak up against it, you will be the next target. #TheKashmirFiles #RightToJustice

The film gained traction with positive word of mouth and also initiated debates on living like refugees in one’s own country.

The film that narrates the story of the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits during the Kashmir Insurgency stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, among others. Several artists from the film industry have also praised the film.

WARNING:
Showing #TheKashmirFiles like this in open and free is a CRIMINAL OFFENCE. Dear @mlkhattar ji, I’d request you to stop this. Political leaders must respect creative business and true Nationalism and Social service means buying tickets in a legal and peaceful manner. 🙏 pic.twitter.com/b8yGqdrmUh

Women and children were the major victims of this atrocity against Kashmiri Pandits in the nineties. They gathered in large numbers to watch the open screening of the film and shed tears on seeing the pathetic condition of the victims.

They spontaneously raised ‘Vande Matram’, ‘Bharat Mata ki Jay’, ‘Mera Baharat Mahan’ and ‘Jay Jay Garvi Gujarat’ to show their true patriotism.

BJP local corporator Rajashriben Patel, BJP Women’s Front member Shilpaben Raval, and Hirabhai Parmar, Virendra Mehta, Dharmendra Soni of Akshay Apartment Raipur Group, Hareshbhai Gadhvi, Maulik B Shah, and Nikulbhai Raval were present during the film screening.

It was also attended by booth level members of BJ P as well as Congress and civil society members.

All those who watched the film opined that oppression of any kind on any community and genocide ought to be fought tooth and nail. They vowed to unite Hindus and work for their betterment.

One of the organizers said, “Chatrapathi Shivaji had fought against Muslim invasion and established impregnable Hindu rashtra. The film conveys this message of patriotsim.”
