The Cyclothon, celebrating 75 years of NCC, aligns with the “Nari Shakti” theme of the upcoming Republic Day Parade 2024. The team, consisting of 13 Senior Wing (Girl) cadets of Gujarat, is led by Brig NS Chaarag. Their journey is a testament to the crucial role of women in shaping India’s future, aiming to inspire the youth and honor the transformative journey of the nation. It highlights the women power of rising Bharat and  Vibrant Gujarat.

It has already passed through the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra. They are in their home soil, of Vibrant Gujarat. They will be further moving through Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi. The team is scheduled to be flagged in by Narendra Modi, PM of India on 27 January 2024. It is heartening to know that apart from adventure, the rally team brings in social awareness in all the villages and towns they traverse through by organizing street shows, nukkad nataks and interactions.

Upon arriving in Ahmedabad on Saturday, the team was welcomed and ‘Flagged In’ at the Gujarat NCC Group Headquarters in Ahmedabad by Geeta S Rao, Para Cyclist of Indian team. On this occasion Braveheart and son of soil Major Rushikesh Ramani who attained veergati while fighting terrorists in Kupwara, J&K in 2009 was also remembered. His father, Vallabhbhai Ramani and mother Geetaben Ramani were felicitated by Gujarat NCC ADG Major General Ramesh Shanmugam, along with Group Commander NCC of Gujarat, and local NCC Cadets.

In her pep talk, Geeta S Rao shared her experience with the cyclists and praised their indomitable spirit.

This cyclothon is not just a journey but a powerful message, showcasing the strength and capabilities of women in India’s ongoing transformation and growth.

Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat will be interacting with the team at the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar on Sunday.  Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will send off the cadets on their further journey.
