GANDHINAGAR, JULY 9
India’s public transport industry has found its biggest innovation runway with the opening of Prawaas 5.0, a mega mobility exhibition that aims to reshape the future of passenger transportation through safer, smarter, cleaner and more comfortable travel solutions.
Held at the Helipad Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, the three-day event has emerged as the country’s most comprehensive business platform for the passenger transport ecosystem, bringing together vehicle manufacturers, electric mobility innovators, technology companies, fleet operators, policymakers, financiers and transport entrepreneurs under one roof.
Organised by the Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI), the landmark edition also marks a decade of BOCI’s leadership in strengthening India’s passenger transport sector, while reinforcing its vision of “Steering the Nation Towards Viksit Bharat.”
Hosted by the Akhil Gujarat Pravasi Vahan Sanchalak Mahamandal, co-hosted by the Gujarat Luxury Cab Owners Association and the Gujarat Tourist Vehicles Operators Association, and curated by MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications, the exhibition continues with its guiding theme:
“Towards Safe, Smart & Sustainable Passenger Mobility.”
The exhibition was inaugurated by Miraben Patel, Mayor of Gandhinagar, in the presence of Kaushik Jain, MLA, Dariapur, Ahmedabad, setting the stage for three days of product launches, business networking, policy discussions and technology demonstrations that are expected to shape the next chapter of India’s passenger mobility landscape.
Designed to accelerate the transformation of public transport, Prawaas 5.0 showcases innovations spanning the entire mobility value chain—from conventional buses to electric vehicles, intelligent transport systems, connected fleet technologies, charging infrastructure, alternative fuels, digital mobility platforms and advanced components.
The exhibition’s core objective is to help operators embrace technologies that improve passenger comfort, enhance operational efficiency, reduce emissions and make public transportation economically sustainable.
One of the strongest exhibitor line-ups in the event’s history features industry leaders including Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, VE Commercial Vehicles, Daimler, JBM, Force Motors, EKA Mobility, Switch Mobility, Sun Mobility, PMI Electro Mobility, Synaty, redBus, AbhiBus, Suzuki, Renault, MG Group, JTAC, Zylog, ZF, Axalta, HPCL, Think Gas, Repose, Spheros Motherson, JSW Greentech, Vertelo and Eberspacher, along with numerous innovators representing every segment of the passenger transport value chain.
Visitors are witnessing a wide spectrum of next-generation mobility solutions, including electric buses, connected vehicle technologies, digital fleet management platforms, intelligent transport systems, advanced charging solutions, alternative fuel technologies and state-of-the-art vehicle components.
Several exhibitors are unveiling breakthrough vehicles and technologies that promise to deliver cleaner mobility, enhanced passenger safety, greater travel comfort and improved fleet profitability.
Over the next three days, Prawaas 5.0 is expected to attract thousands of bus and car operators, State Transport Undertakings (STUs), fleet owners, financiers, policymakers and technology providers from across India, making it one of the country’s most influential business and networking platforms for passenger transportation.
The event also celebrates BOCI’s ten-year journey as the unified voice of India’s bus and car operators. During the past decade, the Confederation has consistently worked with governments and industry stakeholders to advocate progressive policy reforms, strengthen transport businesses and promote safe, efficient and sustainable mobility across the nation.
Adding further significance, senior Ministers from the Central and State Governments, policymakers and industry leaders are expected to participate in conferences and deliberations over the coming days, underlining the exhibition’s growing stature as a national forum for innovation, collaboration and policy dialogue.
Running until July 11, Prawaas 5.0 will feature a packed agenda of product launches, knowledge sessions, business meetings and strategic partnerships, while carrying forward BOCI’s vision of “Desh Ki Raftaar” by connecting technology, industry and innovation to build the future of India’s passenger transport ecosystem.
