COIMBATORE, JULY 9
Taking another significant step towards citizen-centric digital governance, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) in Coimbatore, expanding access to faster, seamless and more inclusive Aadhaar services for residents.
- State-of-the-art Aadhaar Seva Kendra offers faster enrolment, biometric and demographic updates, appointment booking and grievance redressal under one roof
- Resident-friendly, barrier-free facility marks another milestone in UIDAI’s mission to make Aadhaar services more accessible, efficient and inclusive across Tamil Nadu
- Seven Aadhaar Seva Kendras now operational in the State, with 23 more centres planned to strengthen last-mile digital governance
The technologically advanced facility has been designed as a one-stop destination for Aadhaar enrolment, demographic and biometric updates, and grievance redressal, ensuring greater convenience through streamlined and resident-friendly service delivery.
The new Aadhaar Seva Kendra was inaugurated by a retired Superintendent of Customs (Senior Citizen) in the presence of the Director, UIDAI Regional Office, Bengaluru, senior UIDAI officials and representatives of M/s Protean eGov Technologies Limited, which will manage the centre’s day-to-day operations.
Equipped with eight operational service kits, the Coimbatore ASK has the capacity to efficiently handle a high volume of Aadhaar-related transactions while significantly reducing waiting time for residents.
The centre will remain open on all days except public holidays, making Aadhaar services more accessible to citizens across the region.
In a major convenience for cardholders, the ASK will also directly receive Aadhaar-related grievances for prompt resolution through the UIDAI Regional Office, strengthening transparency and accountability in public service delivery.
Designed with inclusivity at its core, the facility features wheelchair accessibility and specially designed restrooms, ensuring barrier-free access for senior citizens, persons with disabilities and other visitors.
Residents can also pre-book appointments online through the official UIDAI portal, enabling faster and more organised service delivery.
With the inauguration of the Coimbatore facility, seven Aadhaar Seva Kendras are now operational across Tamil Nadu, while 23 additional centres are planned in various districts, reflecting UIDAI’s continued commitment to expanding high-quality Aadhaar services closer to citizens.
The initiative forms part of UIDAI’s broader mission to strengthen India’s digital identity ecosystem by making Aadhaar services more efficient, accessible and resident-centric.
