City-based Electrotherm (India) Limited on Friday announced that it was a moment of pride and joy for all ETians. Kaizen team – Unnati from Engineering & Technologies Division as it has won GOLD Medal in the 47th ICQCC 2022 held at Jakarta, Indonesia on 15th – 18th November 2022. ET Kaizen team participated for the first time in this International Mega Event & has won a GOLD Medal.

At ET, Manufacturing Excellence is a culture and Total Employee Involvement (TEI) has been the key mantra for that. Systematic Problem Solving techniques are fostered across the value chain via Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and Small Group Activities (SGA) at the shop floor. Eventually, this joint participation in the direction of improvements and developments has cultured and enhanced the cross functional perspective in the workforce resulting in various remarkable innovations and breakthroughs pertaining to the products and manufacturing processes. For the last 7 years, ET has been showcasing its innovations and breakthroughs in the form of Kaizens at various state-, national-level and international platforms.
Event highlights
757 teams representing various organizations from 14 countries participated in this International Convention under various categories (Kaizen, QCC, LQC, 5S, 6 Sigma, Poka Yoke, SMED). This was a hybrid event (494 teams participated virtually & 263 teams participated physically) and ET team participated in-person.

From India, 206 teams from various organizations like Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Jindal Steel & Power, Mahindra & Mahindra, SKF, GAIL, NTPC, SAIL, L&T, Vedanta, TVS Motor, Lucas TVS, BHEL, Visa Steel, JSW Steel, JSW Energy, Sterlite Technologies, BEML, Jindal Power, Tata Power, Sundaram Auto Components, Sundaram Clayton, Kirloskar Toyota, RINL, KOEL, HEG Ltd, Mazagon Dock, Aarti Industries, Lumax Industries, Kalpataru Power Transmission, Deepak Nitrite, Aditya Birla Fashion, Amara Raja Batteries, Titan Company, Lumax Auto, Deepak Phenolics, Minda Industries, Harita Fehrer, Wheels India, Dynamatic Technologies, Garware Fulflex, Motherson Automotive, Roop Automotives, Minda Sai, Mangal Industries, Brahmaputra Crackers & Polymer, RCF Ltd, Secure Meters, Motherson Autosystem, Mankind Pharma, UPL, Apollo Tyres, TPCODL, Berger Paints, V-Guard Industries, including ET Kaizen team participated in-person with their case studies. In addition, 160 Indian teams participated virtually.
Award criteria
80% & above – Gold Medal / 60% to 79% – Silver Medal / below 60% – Bronze Medal.
