PSGR Krishnammal College for Women and Sustainability and Energy Practitioners Association (SEPA) jointly hosting a two-day national event- “Sustainability India 2023” on the theme of ‘Advanced Clean Energy’.
Industry and academia have started working together to create a technological and demographically inclusive movement that seeks to achieve its aims that are in synchronization with the Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

As part of this, the Inaugural Workshop commenced at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore on Monday and will conclude on Tuesday.
Raguram Arjunan, president of SEPA said the national event focusing on sustainable energy practices would consist of a series of workshops.
The second workshop is scheduled to take place at Chaitanya Bharathi Institute Of Technology (CBIT) in Hyderabad on August 21 and 22. The third workshop is scheduled to take place at MIT ADT University in Pune on September 26 and the final workshop is scheduled to take place at JSS academy of technical in Noida on October 30 and 31.
Arjunan said, “The workshops will feature technical presentations and panel discussions on the renewable energy domain, particularly solar energy and green hydrogen. The panelists will be debating on topics such as advances in material technology, research, policy framework, skill development and training.”
Kishore Bhuvaragha, vice-president of SEPA said that the event would be a platform for industry-institution interaction and collaborations in fields such as product and process development, industrial support and funding for research.
The organizers have also planned to conduct a three-level national solar competition for college students across the country.
Dr R Nandini, Founder-Trustee, GRG Trust, launched the national solar competition on the occasion.
Those who bag the first prize would be given a cash award of Rs 2 lakh, the second prize winner would be given a cash award of Rs 1 lakh and the third prize winner would be given a cash award of Rs 75,000.
Kranthi Kumar Pati IAS, M Sivalingarajan – Ex Director Distribution, TANGEDCO, Dr. SR Anand – Ex Director Transmission and System Operations, Kerala State Electricity Board, Dr Aravind Kumar Chandiran – Head, Center for Photo and Electro Chemical Energy Science, IIT Madras, M Anil Pillai – Ex Deputy Chief Engineer, Kerala State Electricity Board, Dr N Yesodha Devi – Secretary, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women are also taking part in this two-day event.
Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), a Miniratna Company of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. of India, is the main sponsor while the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI), Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ), Mercom India and Cares Academy are also supporting this event.
