NEW DELHI, JULY 4
In a decisive move to make first-car ownership more accessible and aspirational, Renault India has unveiled the New Renault Kwid, introducing a refreshed design, a simplified product line-up and an attractive digital purchase offer that brings the price of its fully loaded Climber variant down to an effective ₹4.99 lakh.
The latest update reflects Renault India’s strategy of offering greater clarity and stronger value for India’s rapidly expanding base of first-time car buyers and two-wheeler owners aspiring to upgrade to four wheels.
Sporting Renault’s new global brand identity, the New Kwid is now available in just two variants—Evolution and Climber—making the buying process simpler while retaining the model’s SUV-inspired styling, modern features and affordability.
Priced between ₹4.52 lakh and ₹5.60 lakh (ex-showroom), the refreshed hatchback also introduces a digital-first pricing strategy. Customers purchasing the Climber variant through Renault India’s online sales platform receive a ₹15,000 cash benefit, reducing its effective transactional price to ₹4.99 lakh, making it one of the most compelling offerings in the entry-level hatchback segment.
Commenting on the launch, Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Renault India, said, “For millions of Indians, owning their first car remains an important milestone. With an increasingly aspirational middle class and a large base of two-wheeler owners looking to upgrade, first-time ownership continues to be a strong and enduring aspiration.”
Highlighting the model’s enduring popularity, he added, “Over 4.5 lakh customers in India have started their journey with Kwid, and that trust is something we deeply value. With the New Kwid, we are building on this legacy by making the offering simpler, clearer, and more relevant.”
Launched in 2015, the Renault Kwid transformed the entry hatchback category by combining SUV-inspired styling with modern features, shifting customer expectations beyond basic mobility. With the latest upgrade, Renault is placing renewed emphasis on delivering greater value through simplified choices, contemporary design and an intuitive ownership experience.
The New Kwid continues to offer segment-leading practicality with its 184 mm ground clearance, 279-litre boot space, bold SUV-inspired stance and compact dimensions tailored for city driving.
On the safety front, the hatchback comes equipped with 17 standard safety features, including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and seat belt reminders.
Its feature list also includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fully digital LED instrument cluster, rear-view camera with guidelines, remote keyless entry, central locking, power windows, power steering, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, stylish dual-tone interiors and distinctive Climber-specific exterior accents.
Powering the hatchback is Renault’s 1.0-litre petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or the Easy-R AMT, the latter featuring a rotary dial gear selector for added convenience.
The refreshed Kwid range is now available across Renault dealerships nationwide as well as through Renault India’s online sales platform, reinforcing the company’s focus on delivering a seamless, digitally enabled car-buying and ownership experience.
