Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday announced that all the schools in the state would be opened on August 3. Distribution kits to students under the YSR Vidya Kanuka scheme would also be launched on the same day. It was revealed by the Chief Minister during the virtual meeting with the district collectors.
While addressing at the meeting, Jagan has directed the officers to complete the first phase of development works in Schools under the Nadu-Nedu initiative by the end of July and prepare for launch of YSR Vidya Kanuka on August 3 when schools will be reopened.
During the Spandana video conference with all the district Collectors here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister instructed the Collectors to take an active role and evaluate the daily progress of the works completed below the scheme. Additionally, he asked the officials to make sure there is no shortage of supply for sand and cement for the works.
In the first phase, nearly 15,715 schools are going to have a new makeover with a revolving budget of Rs 456-crore. Under the Nadu -Nedu scheme, a total of nine development works, including the school infrastructure and basic facilities are to be taken up.
Under the YSR Vidhya Kanuka scheme, all the school going children will be provided with Uniform, Books, Belt, Shoes, and Socks other educational kits, says a release from CMO.
Jagan covers major issues in Spandana
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has discussed with District Collectors and SPs wide ranging issues during the Spandana video conference and gave a detailed road map of programmes to be undertaken.
Implementation of welfare schemes, COVID-19 Mana Badi, drinking water and preparadeness for khariff seasons, distribution of house sites curbing illegal transportation of sand and liquor were among the major issues that were discussed during the conference here on Tuesday.
Describing that the officials are his main strength, the Chief Minister asked them to go extra mile to get the desired results.
Restoration of transport, opening up of shops, establishments, factories and workplaces within the Centre’ guidelines and containing COVID-19 spread and at the same time increasing awareness on the pandemic by erasing the stigma factor are to be done, he said.
Speeding up of land acquisition for house site pattas, discouraging liquor consumption, preparedness for the khariff season with supply of quality seeds, fertilizer pesticides and setting up of Rythu Bharosa kendras (RBKs) by month end to give rural economy a fillip, were among the issues that came up for discussion.
The Chief Minister draw a timeline for rolling out the welfare measures, the CMO release added.
