ERODE, DEC 13
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor-politician Vijay will campaign in Erode on Thursday, December 18, senior party leader and Executive Committee Chief Coordinator K.A. The campaign event, to be held near the Vijayamangalam toll plaza, will be restricted to a two-hour duration, reflecting the party’s calibrated approach to public outreach.
Venue, Timing Finalised; Safety Protocols Emphasised
Campaign duration curtailed amid heightened focus on crowd management
In a statement, Sengottaiyan said all arrangements are being made strictly in accordance with conditions prescribed by the authorities, with particular emphasis on crowd safety and regulatory compliance.
The decision to limit the programme’s duration comes in the backdrop of increased scrutiny of mass political gatherings, prompting the TVK leadership to moderate campaign schedules and adopt tighter safety protocols to prevent overcrowding.

Responding to objections raised in certain quarters, Sengottaiyan clarified that the venue is not owned by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department.
He further stated that there are no restrictions on holding the programme on land belonging to the Vijayapuri Amman Temple, adding that the event fully complies with legal and administrative norms.
Leadership Signals: Alliances, Inductions to Be Decided by Vijay
‘Anyone free to join TVK,’ says Sengottaiyan
Sengottaiyan said that details regarding other political leaders likely to join TVK during the Erode programme would become clear in due course.
Reiterating the party’s internal decision-making structure, he said that questions related to alliances would be decided solely by party president Vijay, while asserting that anyone is free to join TVK.
The senior leader also expressed deep satisfaction with his role in the party, signalling organisational stability and clarity of leadership.
