Eight trustees of Sri Mahudi (Madhupuri) Jain Shwetambar Murthipujak Trust Sangh and members of the Mehta, Vora and Shah families on Sunday refuted all allegations levelled against them as false and baseless. Earlier, a special general meeting of the trustees and all the members of the trust was held at Mahudi Tirth on Sunday morning.
First of all, the Trustees of Shri Mahudi (Madhupuri) Jain Shwetambar Murtipujak Trust Sangh stated that Ankit Shrenikbhai Mehta and Jayeshbhai Mehta were not trustees of Mahudi Sangh but only ordinary members. Thus they have been falsely claiming to be trustees and also misleading the devotees. They also bring disrepute to the temple the trust.
In the special general body meeting, Ankit Shrenikbhai Mehta and Jayeshbhai Babulal Mehta along with six others who supported them were expelled from the Mahudi Sangh, they added.
The Trustees strongly refuted the allegations that they had swindled 130 kg gold and Rs 14 crores. They also claimed that they have been maintaining proper records of every gold, silver inflow and outflow and every item donated by the devotees. These records were shown in the balance sheet of the trust. The balance sheet and audit report of the trust for 2012-2023 were also presented at the press conference.
With regard to the allegation of commission and exchange of money during Corona period, it was said by the trustees that these allegations were baseless and if there was any evidence, it should be brought before them.
The Trustees also presented the illegal scams committed by Ankit Mehta and his family across Gujarat with proper evidence and also the scams perpetrated by his own family members in Sri Mahudi Tirth.
On behalf of the entire Board of Trust, Trustee Bhupendrabhai Vora has urged all to restore the trust reposed by the public in Mahudi Tirth, unshakable faith of people in Srighantakarna Mahaveer Prabhu. “If any person proves embezzlement or mismanagement of even 1 gram of gold by the Trust or by any trustee, I will end my public life in the Sangh premises,” Bhupendrabhai Vora said.
Bhupendrabhai Vora furtherdr added, “Each trustee uses all the facilities of the trust at his own expense and when the storehouses of Mahudi Tirtha are opened, at least 20 to 25 employees and 8 to 10 union members are present and everything is evaluated under the watchful eye of CCTV. Everything is accounted for in the balance sheet.”
“In 2023, Nilesh Mehta and Sunil Mehta, both family members of Ankit Mehta and Jayesh Mehta, who were caught on CCTV stealing from the Bhandar at Mahudi Tirth, were removed by Mahudi Trust with immediate effect. In retaliation, these baseless allegations were made by Ankit Mehta and Jayesh Mehta to defame the trust,” Bhupendrabhai Vora said.
The Board of Trustees Mahudi Trust announced that the Trust is run done honestly and every income and expenditure is mentioned in the balance sheet, which is audited annually as per the policies of the trust. All records are maintained at the office of Mahudi Trust.
