Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) on Saturday celebrated Environment Day to mark the birthday of Founder-Chancellor NPV Ramasamy Udayar’s wife Kamalam Udayar.
Samyuktha Venkataachalam, Trustee, Sri Ramachandra Education Health Trust planted a sapling along with the Vice Chancellor Dr. Uma Sekar. Various competitions like tree planting, eco walk were held for students, faculty and staff on environment related issues.
More than 1,000 students and faculty members of SRIHER participated in the ‘Eco Walk’. They walked through the campus holding placards with slogans creating awareness about environmental protection. The campus environment day was aimed to create awareness about rational use of water, planting trees, avoiding plastics, etc among students and faculties.
